Reporting a claim
As a licensee, if you become aware of a claim against you, or an incident that may give rise to a claim, you must report it immediately in writing to our office. A telephone call to E&O is not sufficient to obtain coverage. All claim reports are kept confidential and should be sent to:
Real Estate Errors and Omissions Insurance Corporation
1590 – 320 Granville Street
Vancouver, BC V6C 1S9
Email: reception@reeoic.com
Supporting real estate licensees throughout the claims process
At E&O, we bring years of experience in handling problems like yours. Reporting a matter, even if it never becomes a claim, will cost you nothing, and can be a valuable first step in resolving the issue.
Sometimes we can resolve the problem very quickly, but we need to have sufficient information and the chance to do so, which can be impaired if you delay in reporting a claim.
If you find yourself asking, ”Should I report a matter to E&O?” the answer is “Yes.”
It’s better for you to contact us about a problem as soon as it arises rather than have problems get worse because we didn’t know about them until it was too late to take steps to address them. In some cases, a delay in reporting can also result in the loss of your insurance coverage.
